Amicus is an organization based in the USA which campaigns for the abolition of the death penalty and handles cases, pro bono, for individuals on death row. It is an organisation that we (as a society) are extremely honoured to represent at the University of Nottingham. We are also excited to provide real legal experience to our volunteers/members by handling casework relating to death penalty cases. Melissa Jarvis is the current Project Head. She will be managing the project until the end of the 20-21 academic year.
Our members will also have to opportunity to become a project head of amicus for the 2021-22 academic year, applications and interviews for which will be held in June 2021.
